The Economic Activities Center in Buenaventura, CAEB

About project

The CAEB, pilot project of the “New Cities” program of the National Planning Department, DNP, is essentially a model of economic and social development for Buenaventura, which would cover up to 4,000 hectares of the territory.

The economic axis of this initiative seeks to take advantage of the logistic and port potential of the city through the promotion, construction, operation and maintenance of a large area of economic activities. On the other hand, the social axis will focus on the integral development of the inhabitants of the city, focusing on State interventions that improve the physical and social infrastructure of the special district of Buenaventura.

The CAEB aims to consolidate itself as a long-term municipal strategic planning practice in partnership with the public, private and community sectors that serves as a reference and example for other projects of high impact and national and international investment.
