About project

Taking into account the current situation of drinking water supply in the municipality of Cali, generated mainly by the continuous pollution and high turbidity events of the Cauca River, in addition to the acute reduction of flows of the Cali and Meléndez rivers, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Valle del Cauca, CVC, through a technical cooperation agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB, carried out the pre-feasibility studies of the projects ‘Reservoir downstream of the Cauca River’ and the conduction of a regional PTAP located in the south of the city of Cali.

The project seeks to ensure the sustainability of the extraction and supply of fresh water for 50 years for the expansion areas of the city of Cali and the municipality of Jamundí in the south of Valle del Cauca.
