The zone of influence of the Pacific Connection – Orinoquia, is cataloged as the future food pantry of the country for its agroindustrial vocation.
The transversal crossing of the Central and Eastern Cordilleras will connect the departments of Valle del Cauca, Meta, Huila, Tolima and Vichada, to boost the agroindustrial development of the Colombian Orinoquía and integrate this region that covers more than 30% of the national territory. Consolidating the transverse infrastructure to the south of the country is to promote an alternative of competitiveness for the region.
TO connect Colombia from the Buenaventura District (Valle del Cauca) to Puerto Carreño (Vichada). Impact directly to nine (9) million inhabitants in the departments of Valle del Cauca, Huila, Tolima, Meta and Vichada, and indirectly to thirteen (13) million inhabitants, uniting the departments of Putumayo, Caqueta, Guaviare, Arauca, Casanare and Cundinamarca.

FDI Pacifico's Role:
Support and enhance project implementation through all of its stages.
Contribute to and assess the project’s viability studies.
Integrate and coordinate key national and local public and private sector actors and stakeholders, as well as analogous infrastructure initiatives to realize potential benefits of effective and efficient joint management efforts (Trans-Andean Railway, and Pacific Pipeline).
